SHERIFF’S LOG: Domestic violence lands suspects in jail

Friday, Jan. 25

4:53 a.m. – Jennifer Marty got into an early morning argument with her husband in the lobby of the Holiday Inn. Deputies were called. Mrs. Marty was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of meth and was placed on a parole hold.

sheriffslogbox4:02 p.m. – Someone thought a dog was being neglected and abused on Pickett Road, so the person took the dog. Deputies returned the dog to its rightful owner.

11:13 p.m. – Deputies pulled over Howard McCovey near Central Avenue and Holly Drive for a traffic stop. He was arrested and booked into the county jail on suspicion of possession of more than 28 grams of weed, possession of marijuana for sale, violation of probation and driving on a suspended license.

Saturday, Jan. 26

12:31 a.m. – Someone on Bird Avenue called the Sheriff’s Office to report a ransacked house and a previous assault of some sort.

1:37 a.m. – The perforated cardboard was pushed in, the spout was pulled out, and now the box of wine was ready for consumption. Angelina Bailey helped herself to liberal quantities of the Dionysian nectar, alternating between the wine and caffeinated Monster Energy drinks. What should have been a splendid evening then got ugly. Ms. Bailey allegedly started arguing with her boyfriend. Things escalated when she scratched and hit the boyfriend. Deputies were called to the 2400 block of McKinleyville Avenue. Ms. Bailey was arrested and booked into the county jail on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a cohabitant and disorderly conduct.

10:53 a.m. – A woman on Lyman Lane in Fieldbrook went to her mailbox, where she found a Manila envelope stamped “Return to Sender – Address Unknown.” Her address was listed as the return address. Inside the envelope was 48 grams of processed marijuana in a vacuum-sealed bag. Deputies were called to dispose of the weed.

10:58 a.m. – On Bolier Avenue, someone uprooted bamboo plants and broke a water spigot off, allowing water to flow everywhere. A report of vandalism was logged.

3:06 p.m. – Over on Berg Avenue a vehicle was burglarized.

Sunday, Jan. 27

11:28 a.m. – Three pitbull-mix dogs on Mary Lane, located on the west side of Highway 101 south of School Road, chased cattle in a nearby field. A steer was injured. The pitbulls were impounded and taken to the Animal Shelter.

3:34 p.m. – Gas was siphoned from vehicles on Sand Road in McKinleyville.

4:40 p.m. – A husband and wife got into a verbal dispute on South Gwin Road. Deputies were called to the seen to counsel the couple.

10:13 p.m. – Brett Hanson was cited for driving on a suspended driver’s license and “unsafe turning movement” near Oak Place and Heartwood Drive after he was pulled over.

Monday, Jan. 28

12:39 a.m. – Casey Cooper was pulled over near Park Avenue and First Road in McKinleyville. Mr. Cooper was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of meth, violating probation and driving without a license.

12:23 p.m. – Two males got into a physical fight on Quarry Road near Trinidad,

Tuesday, Jan. 29

1:50 a.m. – Shortly after the last call for alcohol, some ladies at the Ocean Grove in Trinidad got into some sort of brawl. Two females were taken into custody.

8:53 a.m. – A resident awoke to find that someone had rummaged through an unlocked car on the 1400 block of Whitmore Avenue during the night.

12:28 p.m. – Laundry was stolen from tenants who live on the 400 block of Patrick’s Point Drive north of Trinidad.

Saturday, Feb. 2

5:24 p.m. – A dude allegedly assaulted his ex-girlfriend. This resulted in two other guys allegedly assaulting the dude near Sutter Road and Park Road. No other details available.

Sunday, Feb. 3

11:02 a.m. – A vehicle was vandalized on Juniper Avenue.

9:17 p.m. – Deputies were contacted by a man who said he was assaulted. He had gone over to some guy’s house to confront him about trying to kiss his girlfriend. The conversation didn’t go well and the man got punched. The victim, however, was vague about where this took place, so there wasn’t much deputies could do about it.

Monday, Feb. 4

2:49 a.m. – In the 1700 block of Sutter Road, Ronald Roubidoux allegedly pulled his estranged girlfriend out of her bed by her ankles, dropping her to the floor as her daughter, who was sleeping in the bed with her mom, observed the violent act. Mr. Roubidoux was booked into the county jail on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse and willful cruelty to a child.

1:11 p.m. – Jeremy Steele was drinking in the 1800 block of Columbus Avenue. Due to Mr. Steele’s intoxication, his girlfriend tried to prevent him from driving and took his car keys. Mr. Steele became enraged and allegedly assaulted his girlfriend to get the keys back. Her injuries were bad enough that she had to go to the hospital. Mr. Steele, meanwhile, was booked into the county jail on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a spouse and violating the terms of his probation.

Tuesday, Feb. 5

4:20 a.m. – Near U.S. Highway 101 and Airport Road, deputies arrested Sandra Belisle on suspicion of burglary and a drug charge. She was booked into the county jail.

12:33 p.m. – A vehicle was burglarized on Lois Lane in Westhaven.
