From the 1.9.13 issue

3:41 p.m. – Someone stole a motorcycle from an unlocked garage on Bird Avenue.

sheriffslogbox7:32 p.m. On Patrick’s Point Drive a white plastic chair was leaning against a building and minding its own business when some transients came along and lit the chair on fire.

Saturday, Dec. 29

12:05 a.m. – There was a verbal domestic dispute on Fieldbrook Road.

12:52 a.m. – Deputies responded to the 1700 block of Sutter Road to investigate a noise complaint. When deputies arrived, they encountered Dylan Ford. According to the Sheriff’s Department, Mr. Ford exhibited belligerent behavior which impeded the investigation into the noise complaint. Mr. Ford was arrested on suspicion of “resisting, obstructing or delaying a peace officer,”

1:57 p.m. – Car tires were slashed on Sun Road. The victim suspects that her ex-boyfriend did the deed.

8:58 p.m. – Anthony Peters Jr. was pulled over on Betty Court near the movie theater. He was cited for driving on a suspended license, not having a license plate and for a misdemeanor warrant.

Sunday, Dec. 30

6 p.m. – A person on South Gwin Road received a threatening text message from an untraceable phone number.

Monday, Dec. 31

9:18 a.m. – Here’s an awful truth about McKinleyville and many other places on the North Coast: If you park your car near a trailhead or along the beach, you may fall victim to the bands of thieves that look for easy targets. A man discovered this when he parked his car at the Hammond Trail parking lot on Letz Lane north of Airport Road. While he was walking his dog, someone broke into his vehicle and stole stuff.

9:30 a.m. – The Church of the Light on Hiller Road was vandalized.

10:46 a.m. – A car window was smashed and stuff stolen on the Frontage Road in Trinidad.

Tuesday, Jan. 1

1:24 a.m. – Someone liberated a keg of Coors Light from the Safeway. The thief, perhaps realizing that he had swiped a really crappy, tasteless beer, dumped the untapped keg near the Moose Lodge.

8:25 a.m. – A man, whose name was not released, was drunk in front of the Moose Lodge. He saw another man talking to his girlfriend. This made him mad, so he assaulted the fellow, sending him to the hospital.

10:22 p.m. – Naomi Nystrom and Jerry Eckerbauer were yelling at each other near North Westhaven Drive and Quarry Road. Deputies were dispatched to the scene. Ms. Nystrom and Mr. Eckerbauer were booked into the county jail on suspicion of being drunk in public, giving false identification to a peace officer and resisting and/or obstructing arrest.

11:02 p.m. – Deputies received a call of a “suspicious person” at the Central Station saloon on Central Avenue. Deputies arrived and arrested Gary Vandalsem on suspicion of being drunk in public and for violation of probation.

Wednesday, Jan. 2

8:32 a.m. – Someone reported that a bicycle was stolen from Margo Lane, which is a relatively new road off Central Avenue just north of McKinleyville Middle School.

9:34 a.m. – A vehicle was burglarized on the 1900 block of Holly Drive.
