UPDATED FORECAST THIS MORNING TO BETTER REPRESENT THE CURRENT RADAR
AND SATELLITE TRENDS. INCREASED QPF THIS AFTERNOON IN THE INLAND
AREAS AND DECREASED IT ALONG THE COAST. TEMPERATURES NEAR 60 TODAY
ALONG THE COAST AND EXPECT THEY WILL STAY NEARLY STEADY THROUGH THE
DAY TODAY. INLAND TEMPERATURES WILL BE STEADY OR FALLING AS WELL SO
ADJUSTED THE FORECAST ACCORDINGLY. MKK

.DISCUSSION…A COLD FRONT WILL BRING RAIN TO THE REGION TODAY.
1030Z SATELLITE SHOWS THE COLDEST CLOUD TOPS BEGINNING TO MOVE
OVER NORTHWEST CALIFORNIA AND SOUTHWESTERN OREGON. RADAR CONFIRMS
THIS BY SHOWING A HEAVY RAIN BAND BEGINNING TO MOVE THROUGH OUR
CWA. HEAVY RAIN IS BEING REPORTED IN CEC AND THIS BAND OF HEAVY
RAIN WILL MOVE TO THE ESE OVER THE MORNING HOURS. ALL OF THE
MODELS SHOW HIGHER QPF AMOUNTS THAN WHAT WAS FORECAST AND GIVEN
THE CURRENT RADAR TRENDS BUMPED UP THE QPF FOR THE NEXT 12 HOURS
TO BETTER REFLECT THIS. THE HEAVIEST RAIN WILL BE DURING THE
MORNING HOURS, THEN DIMINISHING DURING THE AFTERNOON. THE RAIN
WILL CHANGE TO SHOWERS BEHIND THE FRONT TONIGHT AND THE SHOWERS
WILL CONTINUE INTO TUESDAY MORNING. THE SHOWERS ARE EXPECTED TO
CLEAR OUT BY ABOUT NOON TUESDAY, BUT A FEW MIGHT LINGER AROUND THE
CA/OR BORDER UNTIL THE AFTERNOON. QPF AMOUNTS THROUGH TUESDAY WILL
BE AROUND 1 INCH FOR HUMBOLDT AND DEL NORTE COUNTIES AND UP TO 2
INCHES IN THE RAIN FAVORED LOCATIONS. TRINITY AND MENDOCINO
COUNTIES WILL SEE AROUND 0.75 INCHES. SNOW IS NOT AN ISSUE AS SNOW
LEVELS WILL BE WELL ABOVE PASS LEVELS. HIGH PRESSURE WILL BUILD
BACK IN LATE TUESDAY AND CONTINUE INTO THURSDAY. THIS WILL BRING
WARMER TEMPERATURES, DRY CONDITIONS, AND FAIR SKIES TO THE AREA.
FRIDAY INTO THE WEEKEND THE MODELS SHOW A TROUGH FORMING OVER THE
WEST COAST. THIS MAY INCREASE RAIN CHANCES, BUT THE MODELS AREN`T
SHOWING MUCH AND UNCERTAINTY IS HIGH. KEPT CLIMO POPS IN THE
FORECAST FOR FRIDAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND. STROZ
