Looks like cloudy weather with a chance of light rain Saturday evening.
Raw from the NWS:
A GRADUAL COOLING TREND WILL CONTINUE WITH WITH DRY CONDITIONS
THROUGH TODAY. LATE NIGHT AND MORNING LOW CLOUDS AND FOG WILL
DEVELOP ACROSS ALL COASTAL AREAS. A WEAK SYSTEM WILL BRING THE NEXT
CHANCE OF RAIN THIS WEEKEND.
RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT PERSISTS THROUGH THE REMAINDER OF
TODAY. IR SAT PICS SHOW BANDS OF CIRRUS LIFTING NORTHWARD AND
DISSIPATING THROUGH THE RIDGE. AT LOW AND MID LEVELS FLOW BEGINS
TO GRADUALLY BACK AS A WESTERLY COMPONENT STEERS LOWER CLOUDS INTO
THE REDWOOD COAST. THUS TODAY WILL LIKELY BE A LITTLE GLOOMIER
THAN THE LAST COUPLE FOR THE COASTAL ZONES. SOME PARTIAL CLEARING
MAY OCCUR LATER TODAY BUT SOME OF THAT HIGHER CIRRUS SHOULD STILL
BE PRESENT THUS FILTERED SUNSHINE AT BEST. HEIGHTS AND THICKNESS
VALUES BEGIN TO FALL LATER TODAY AS A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE BEGINS
ITS TREK SOUTHWARD TOWARD THE PACNW GIVING WAY TO A GRADUAL COOLING
TREND FOR THE THE INTERIOR AND COASTAL INTERIOR ZONES THIS WEEKEND.
A RAPIDLY WEAKENING COLD FRONT MOVES INTO COAST MIDDAY SAT BUT BEST
CHANCE OF PCPN STILL LOOKS LATE SAT NIGHT INTO SUN AS JET MOVES DOWN
BACK SIDE OF LOW. AMOUNTS STILL LOOK VERY LIGHT AND EXPECT LESS THAN
A TENTH OF AN INCH WITH THIS ENTIRE WEEKEND SYSTEM WITH HIGHEST
AMOUNTS IN DEL NORTE COUNTY. COOL AIRMASS DROPS OVER AREA SUN AND
SUN NIGHT WITH TEMPS BELOW 700MB 2 STANDARD DEVIATIONS BELOW NORMAL.
DAYTIME HIGHS ON SUN BACK DOWN INTO THE 60S COMPARED TO WEDS 80S AND
LOW 90S. LOOKS LIKE THERE SHOULD BE ENOUGH CLOUD COVER TO PREVENT
ANY FROST CONDITIONS SUN NIGHT OR MON NIGHT BUT WILL HAVE TO KEEP
THAT IN MIND. THIS “INSIDE SLIDER” TYPE TROUGH WILL MOVE SOUTH OUT
OF THE PACNW AND THROUGH EASTERN CA…NEVADA AND ACROSS AZ. BEHIND
THE TROUGH A POSITIVELY TITLED RIDGE THEN BUILDS IN LATE MON AND
TUE ACROSS THE WEST COAST. 12Z GFS AND EC CLOSER IN RESOLUTION FOR
MIDWEEK LOW AS THEY BOTH BRING A 531DM LOW INTO GULF OF ALASKA AND
COLD FRONT SWINGING THROUGH WED AFTN. BUMPED UP POPS FOR WED AND THU
BUT STILL LOOKING AT CHANCE POPS ACROSS DEL NORTE AND NORTHERN
HUMBOLDT COUNTIES AND LESSER POPS TO THE SOUTH. JT/ND
Humboldt Planning Commission to take up marijuana at next week’s meeting. See below:
