The tsunami warning for California and Oregon has been downgraded to an advisory by the

West Coast/Alaska Warning Center. While the warning has been downgraded to an advisory,

dangerous conditions continue to exist along the west coast, especially in the Crescent City

area. An advisory means that a tsunami capable of producing strong currents and waves

dangerous to persons in or very near the water. Citizens are discouraged from returning to low-

lying coastal areas until the “all clear” has been issued.
