Sneak peek at the coming issue

The March 2, 2011 edition of the McKinleyville Press is now at the printer, waiting to be plated and inked onto newsprint.

Here’s a sneak peek at this week’s paper.

• There’s a tragic story about the death of Dustin Lee Praytor, who was killed in car wreck last week. We also have his obituary. Our hearts go out to his family and friends.

• The Airport Advisory Committee got a chuckle out of the recent Planning Commission discussion about moving the county’s main airport. Apparently, it’s a nutty idea.

• There’s coverage of the Planned Parenthood rally (and counter rally) that took place last week.

• Heroes, heroes, heroes. The Red Cross honored a bunch of them and we have their stories.

• Wow! What a great season for the Mack High Boys and Girls basketball teams. Read all about it.

• There’s a new director at the McK Senior Center. Find out who it is.

• Lots of art exhibits in Trinidad!

• On the opinion page, there’s a letter about the end of the pot industry as we know it. Is the THC gold rush over?

• One letter writer thinks McKinleyville should have a Municipal Advisory Committee. Another writer wants a Planning Commission.

• McKinleyville man wins Peacemaker Award.

• There’s opposition in Trinidad to a tsunami siren, or at least the proposed location.

And there’s more. To read all about it, pick up a copy of this week’s paper or subscribe.
