From Humboldt Roller Derby:
Bring your friends and family out to Humboldt Roller Derby’s first double-header of their 2011 season!
Come cheer on your favorite skaters at Redwood Acres’ Franceschi Hall on Saturday, March 5. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the first bout will start at 6 p.m., featuring Humboldt’s Widow Makers against Reno’s Battle Born Derby Demons.
At around 7:30 p.m., Humboldt’s Redwood Rollers will take on the Bay Area Derby (B.A.D.) Girls’ Oakland Outlaws.
Tickets are currently on sale online at humboldtrollerderby.com, at People’s Records on the Plaza in Arcata, and The Works in Eureka (note their new location in Old Town on C Street between 2nd and 3rd!). Ticket prices are $10 in advance or $12 at the door – if there are any left. Bouts always sell out quickly, so be sure to buy your tickets early.
Humboldt Roller Derby bouts are always family-friendly, and kids aged 10 and under get in free (with no ticket required).
As always, this event will feature entertainment by HRD’s brass band, the Dirty Derby Blowhards, dance performances by the Derby Darlings dance crew, and all the food and drink you can handle. Microbrews will be provided by Six Rivers Brewery, with beer sale proceeds to benefit the North Star Quest Camp for Girls.
