BREAKING NEWS: Sundberg to face Cleary in run-off

Ryan Sundberg will face Patrick Clearly in a run-off this November for Fifth District Supervisor.

The Humboldt County Elections Division released the results of the final count moments ago.

Ryan Sundberg was the top vote getter on June 8, with 2,739 votes, or 39.02 percent, followed by Patrick Cleary, with 2,169 votes, or 30.90 percent.

Patrick Higgins came in a close third, with 1,865 votes, or 26.57 percent. Jeff Lytle, known on local blogs as the Henchman of Justice, received 237 votes, or 3.38 percent.

To win on June 8, a candidate had to receive more than 50 percent of the vote. Since none did, the top two vote getters – Sundberg and Cleary – will face each other on Election Day,  Nov. 2.
