.SYNOPSIS…ANOTHER STORM SYSTEM WILL AFFECT THE REGION TODAY INTO
TUESDAY WITH RAIN AND HIGHER ELEVATION SNOW. SKIES WILL BEGIN TO
CLEAR AS DRY WEATHER RETURNS WEDNESDAY.

.DISCUSSION…SAT IMAGERY SHOWS THE NEXT SYSTEM APPROX 41N/132W AS
UPPER LEVEL TROUGH PERSISTS OVER THE NE PAC. MODELS REMAIN IN
GOOD AGREEMENT IN BRINGING THIS SYSTEM INTO THE BAY AREA THIS
AFTERNOON AND EVENING WITH HIGHEST PRECIP TOTALS EXPECTED TO BE
OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN OF MENDO AND TRINITY COUNTIES. NSSL BB AND
MESOWEST OBS DATA SHOW SNOW LEVELS AROUND 2000-2500 FT ATTM. SOME
WAA AHEAD OF THE NEXT SHORT WAVE WILL RAISE SNOW LEVELS TO
3000-3500 FT THIS AFTERNOON WITH SOME SHELTERED VALLEYS REMAINING
AROUND 2500 FT. PRECIP WILL TAPER OFF OVERNIGHT BEFORE INCREASING
AGAIN TUE AS ANOTHER SHORT WAVE PUSHES THE TROUGH AXIS ACROSS THE
REGION. PRECIP WILL GRADUALLY TAPER OFF INTO WED AS MOIST NW FLOW
PERSISTS. UPPER LEVEL RIDGE BUILDS IN FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK
WITH MAIN CONCERN LIMITED TO COASTAL/VALLEY FG/STRATUS. MODELS
COMING INTO BETTER AGREEMENT FOR THE FIRST HALF OF THE WEEKEND AS
ANOTHER STORM AFFECTS THE W COAST…HOWEVER SOLUTIONS DIVERGE
HEADING INTO NEXT WEEK…SO KEPT POPS NEAR CLIMO.
