Maybe Richard will call me tomorrow

Tonight I shall fall asleep in a puddle of tears because Richard Salzman isn’t returning my emails and phone calls. I’m concerned that something has happened to him or, gulp, maybe he just doesn’t like me.

This bothers me because I like Richard, and I want him to like me back. But we need to have a conversation about the ethics of anonymously sliming people on the internets. Is that OK? Should a paid political operative for our esteemed District Attorney be going around dropping little anonymous bombs on the Internet designed to malign and discredit people?

Shouldn’t he, at the very least, use his real name and stop acting like a coward?

Maybe Richard has a good justification for his actions. If so, I like to hear what it is.

Meanwhile, I eagerly await his phone call, hanky in hand.

Paging Richard Salzman. Paging Richard Salzman

Richard,
Please return my emails. I want to know why you consider it appropriate to attack people anonymously on local blogs. As a political consultant who has worked for the District Attorney and other candidates, shouldn’t you be held to a higher standard? At the very least, you should use your actual name when attacking people. Haven’t you learned anything from the past? Please get back to me ASAP.
Sincerely,
Jack Durham
