The BMW of Humboldt Bay entry was the winning float in today’s Pony Express Days Parade. More coming in Tuesday’s paper.

It has been the Azalea Festival parade for the last four years.
4 years to long. Pony Express Parade all the way.
Without a name, your comment is meaningless. If you want to change the name, do the work.
Amen. Ben. If you think you can do a better job and contribute then go for it. I doubt that you will do anything but run your mouth cause that is the way with most anon’s. You were not there to discuss what was going on with the parade/BBQ/etc. You contributed nothing but you want to tell other what to do. I think you will find a city just to the south of McK town where you will be very happy.
Like our town.like both of you, like Pony Express
Like the town….do the work and call it whatever you want. Go to the meetings, get involved. Do the work. Do the work. Talking about something never got anything done. Do it. Do the work. If so many people are upset they should go to the meetings and would have a giant workforce to run the show next year. Truth is, nobody actually wants to do anything other than complain about the job somebody else is doing. Do the work. Do the work. Do the work. Do the work. Do the work. Do the work. Do the work. Do the work. Do the work. Do the work. Do the work. Do the work. Do the work.
So you folks prefer the Azalea Festival name. That’s fine. The events are the same whatever you call it.
If you guys want more residents to show up and get involved in planning and organizing, work with me to get some publicity in the paper about the next meeting.
we go to the meetings and we do work and we still like Pony Express. Most people do. Don’t be defensive about the name that isn’t working well. Try to understand it’s not about how hard everyone tries. It’s that most people like Pony Express.
Dear Mr/Ms. Anonymous,
You can participate in the decision! Just follow the following easy steps:
1. If you are not a member, join the Chamber. (You can not join as Anonymous though)
2. Call the Chamber office and ask that your name be considered for a position on the Board. You can include a bio. to support your nomination.
3. If you are elected to the Board, then you can bring up the name change and see if you have to votes to make the change.
Note: The decision to change to the Azalea Festival was a unanimous decision of the Board at that time, so you will have some work to do to convince current Board Membes to change thier mind. Win or not, this is how the process works.
Or,we can choose not to follow some stupid order list and simply do good work. Opinion is part of freedom. It doesn’t have to be ratified by anyone or any group. This isn’t about you or a committee. It’s the opinion of Mck. at large not a condemnation of your hard work. Pony Express rocks!
Don’t care about name but bring back the outhouse on wheels competition!! Enough with the gentrification.
David, Great idea…the event needs more diversity and that aspect would appeal to many. Would you consider joining us and being the chairman of a committee to organize that event? There are many things we can add but we need more people to help to distribute the load. Sounds like a good idea.
Jump on Dave, there is lots of room for ideas and doers. Tom is right though, to do more we need more people to be involved cause what happens after a period of time doing to much many become burned out. It is a very rewarding, worthwhile event to become involved in, I’m sure you would enjoy yourself, and be a asset as the chairman of a committee of outhouse racers. :)
